Gaionauten e.V. runs the Resonanz-Labor in Leipzig, Germany, the city where the world's second large-scale planetarium opened in 1926. A century later we reinterpret that idea: our walk-in dome shows not distant stars but what happens on our doorstep, climate data, traffic flows, the state of our rivers, as living images and sound.

A VR headset isolates each viewer. The dome holds a whole group at once, so people see the same thing together and can try out what a decision would really do.

We work in four fields: hands-on public participation in urban planning, energy and nature conservation, education that turns climate anxiety into a sense of agency, giving ecosystems a seat at the table through data and visualisation, and new ways through conflict.

The dome itself is a commons rather than property: hardware, software and methods stay open, so any town can rebuild its own without being tied to one supplier.
